Common questions

How does the Indonesia Golden Visa work?

The Indonesian Golden Visa program allows you to stay in the country for five or 10 years (extendable) if you meet the requirements of one of seven pathways. These pathways include investment-focused pathways, with options such as company formation, real estate investment, or bond investment, as well as pathways for retirees, people of sufficient means, and former citizens or their descendants.

What is the Indonesia Second Home Visa?

Indonesia Second Home Visa (E 33 visa) is an Indonesian visa that allows you to stay in the country for five years (extendable) if you have the funds to support yourself while there. Sufficient funds are typically demonstrated by placing USD 130,000 in a local bank account or purchasing real estate in the country worth at least USD 1 million.

Can foreigners get Indonesian citizenship?

Yes. Foreigners can get Indonesian citizenship after residing in the country for five consecutive years or 10 non-consecutive years. Applicants also have to meet language requirements and relinquish any other citizenship they might hold, as Indonesia doesn’t ordinarily recognise dual citizenship.

How does tax residency work in Indonesia?

You are considered an Indonesian tax resident if you reside in the country, are present in Indonesia for more than 183 days in a 12-month period, or are present in the country during the tax year and intend to reside there. As an Indonesian tax resident, you are liable for taxes on your worldwide income and obligated to disclose assets and liabilities.
